sustainability
The ski industry as a whole is not eco-friendly, but that's what makes us more determined to do our bit. We work at minimising our negative impact on the surrounding environment in a number of ways. We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful corner of the world, and it is important to keep it that way!
-
We try to use seasonal produce where possible, and we use and preserve produce from our own vegetable garden here in Samoëns.
-
We use only free-range or organic eggs in all our cooking and we always use free-range chicken.
-
We compost all of our vegetable waste, and we try to produce as little food waste as we can (Macy dog gets first dibs on any scraps!).
-
We recycle all tins, cardboard, glass bottles, and plastic and we encourage our guests to do the same.
-
We try to be as efficient with our energy consumption as we can - by simple things like turning off lights, to having the heating on a timer so make sure the chalet is warm and cosy only when it needs to be, and by using our log fire to heat the chalet.
As we are located in Samoëns village, there is no need for cars once you have arrived - everything can be accessed on foot or by the free ski buses or Petit Train (great fun for kids!). Speak with us about getting here and we can help you find the most eco-friendly option for you or your group
